Beyond Bars! is a moving personal story as well as a call to action. It raises questions about what incarceration accomplishes and why the U.S. imprisons more people per capita than any other Western country. Through the story of Chesa Boudin, whose parents were arrested and jailed when he was less than two years old, this documentary dramatizes the toll that mass incarceration takes not just on those convicted of a crime but also on their families. It calls for reforms to our system that can make it more just.

Please join the Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware (UUSD) with co-host the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice on Friday, May 3 starting at 6:30.

The location is UUSD, 30486 Lewes Georgetown Highway, Lewes DE to view the film and engage in the discussion about what Delaware needs to create a more just society.
