SDARJ Membership
Since its inception in 2015, the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice has relied on individual donations to fund its programs and community outreach efforts. Free space for monthly meetings at Trinity Faith Christian Center and pro bono speakers were critical to establishing the Alliance as an important voice in southern Delaware and beyond.
SDARJ’s mission to educate, inform, and advocate for racial justice couldn’t be more critical and timely, given the challenges and divisions in our country. To address this pressing need, the Alliance plans to expand its programming by:
- utilizing townhall meetings to learn from outstanding speakers from across the country regarding racial justice issues;
- increasing community awareness through seminars and training courses;
- advocating at state legislative sessions on key issues such as criminal justice reform;
- expanding the college scholarship program for qualified minority students;
- upgrading our web capabilities to serve as a key source of community information.
- collaborating with like-minded organizations to multiply our impact on racial justice issues;
- utilizing a new monthly meeting space for townhall sessions;
- establishing an honoraria/travel reimbursement system for speakers.
