Black service members have played invaluable roles in the U.S. military since the American Revolutionary War and today, continue to serve honorably and bravely in all branches of the Armed Forces.

In the honor of that, we have started the Military Series featuring black service members and celebrating their heroism.

Black service members have a long and impactful history in the U.S. military, contributing to its ranks since the American Revolution and continuing to serve with distinction today. Currently, over 350,000 Black and African American individuals serve in the active duty and select reserve, and there are over 2.4 million Black veterans.
