Education Committee

Education and Scholarship Committee Mission: 

To collaborate with students, schools, and the Sussex County community to promote a shared understanding of the history of racism and the urgency of racial justice, in support of the larger SDARJ mission. 

Goals: 

·         Students: Offer enrichment workshops for youth and award scholarships to local Black/African American students with concern for advancing the cause of racial justice.

·         Schools: Work directly with Sussex County schools and teachers to help develop curricula that equitably represent the history, achievements, and contributions of Black/African Americans.    

·         Community: Engage the community in discussions of racial justice and equality.
