The Cape Gazette Covers SDARJ’s 10th Anniversary Gala
We’re pleased to share the Cape Gazette’s coverage of our 10th anniversary gala, held October 24 at Kings Creek Country Club in Rehoboth Beach. The article and photo gallery by Deny Howeth capture an evening celebrating a decade of SDARJ’s work for racial justice, reconciliation and equal opportunity across Sussex County.
The Gazette highlights remarks from elected officials, community leaders and local business leaders, live music from Christie Taylor’s band, our silent auction, and a video message from Bryan Stevenson congratulating SDARJ on ten years.
The photos feature many of the guests who joined us, including Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester, Congresswoman Sarah McBride, Sen. Russ Huxtable, State Auditor Lydia York, Lewes Councilwoman Trina Brown-Hicks, and SDARJ founder and board chair Charlotte King.
The article also recognizes what SDARJ has built over the past ten years: scholarships, community events, town hall conversations, book and film discussions, Black Voices, and a directory of Black-owned businesses.
