SDARJ African American Achievement Award at Milton Elementary School
The Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice (SDARJ) recently honored Anori Glover and Xavier Williams, students at Milton Elementary School.
Anori, who is in first grade, has demonstrated a desire to achieve since the first day of school. She has grown as a reader this year by working hard. Anori is a model student and takes pride in her work. She sets an example to other students, and she is often the first student to offer help. Anori also shows concern for her fellow students, making sure others are not left out.
Fifth grader Xavier Williams has shown exceptional leadership, effort, and excellence at Milton Elementary School. He sets a positive example for his peers, whether by helping classmates with their work or encouraging teamwork during activities. Xavier’s commitment to improvement is evident in his academic growth. He demonstrates incredible effort, approaching challenges with a positive attitude and always striving to do his best. Xavier embodies the values of kindness, dedication, and excellence. For these reasons, Xavier Williams is a truly deserving recipient of this award.
Accompanied by school staff, Anori and Xavier were honored in a ceremony at the school, and each received a $20 gift card from SDARJ.
SDARJ initiated the African American Achievement award to recognize students who represent the ideals of leadership, effort, and excellence in their schools. Students from each school in the Cape Henlopen and Indian River School Districts are recognized throughout the school year.
