The Lewes African American Heritage Commission has named Charlotte King, Leonia Robinson, and Rev. George Edwards Sr. as the three recipients of its 2026 Community Appreciation and Recognition Awards. The honorees will be celebrated during the City of Lewes Juneteenth Celebration at George H.P. Smith Park from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 27.

Somewhere in Laurel, Delaware, a student is struggling. Maybe it’s a third-grader stuck on fractions. Maybe it’s a ninth-grader who has fallen behind in reading and is starting to wonder whether school is even worth it. The ARK Educational Resource Center exists for that student — and right now, the ARK is looking for volunteers like you to make the difference.
