Sponsor programs and develop materials to educate SDARJ members and affected individuals / families, and the general public regarding racial and class disparities in the criminal justice system, causes and effects of mass incarceration, and the need for reform to ensure equal treatment for all.

SDARJ Charlotte King 2025 Scholarship Application

The Charlotte King Scholarship of the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice provides $1000 scholarships to selected Sussex County students who are continuing their education beyond high school, who demonstrate commitment to racial justice through community involvement, who identify as Black and/or African American, and who agree to have their photo and responses used in our materials.

Becoming Visible: Students for Change

In 2022 we are offering highly interactive 90-minute Zoom workshops on such topics as Cultural Competence, Antiracism, History of Slavery in Delaware, and Great Contributions of African-Americans to U.S. culture.

Resources for School and Community Work

Our team is curating lists of resources and links to helpful sites as you complete homework assignments or collaborate with others in the community on projects that teach and inform about racism. The work is ongoing, and we hope you find it helpful. If you have recommendations, we welcome them.
