The Progress of Police Reform
Police misconduct records are secret in Delaware. SDARJ has held multiple town halls on this issue and has advocated for reform legislation. Last year, the legislature passed some limited disclosure obligations, but these requirements are not being followed. Read the op ed by Misty Seemans, Esq., of the Office of Delaware Defense Services, demanding the General Assembly end thirty years of secrecy with meaningful reform.

Mandatory Expungement in Delaware
As of August 1, 2024, approximately 290,000 people living in Delaware who have a criminal record can have their record automatically expunged, removing barriers to employment, housing and other critical needs.
