Ending Racist Hate Incidents in Sussex County
The Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice (SDARJ) will hold a Town Hall on May 21 at the Lewes Library at 6:00 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to advocate for the cessation of hate incidents and harassment directed towards African Americans in Sussex County.
Military Series – Doris ‘Dorie’ Miller
African-American military officer, federal civil servant, and advocate for black women’s rights and desegregation. Out of 300 women nationwide who entered officer training in the U.S. military in 1943, she was one of the three African Americans.
