Dignity Backpack Project Support formerly incarcerated individuals
The Dignity Backpack Project supports formerly incarcerated individuals by providing essential items they need as they reintegrate into society.
Many times, formerly incarcerated men and women who are leaving prison, do not have items they need to begin their new life. Delaware Center for Justice, The Way Home, Partnership in Reentry Coalition of Delaware, Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware, and the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice (SDARJ) are organizing this project and seeking funds to purchase backpacks and items to include in the packs. The contents will include items such as hygiene products, bus tickets, references for services and other requested items, to the extent we have them.
In January 2020, the Project successfully collected and packed 80 backpacks.
