SDARJ African American Achievement Award at Beacon Middle School
SDARJ recently honored Beacon Middle School students Santana Bennett and Kendall DeShields for their leadership, effort, and excellence. The students were recognized in a ceremony at the school and received $20 gift cards to Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach.

Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony 2025
Delaware celebrated extraordinary women at the annual Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. The event honored this year’s inductees, which included Valerie Biden Owens, Claire DeMatteis, Charlotte King, and Charlotte Miller-Lacy, recognizing their leadership, dedication, and lasting impact on their communities, professions, and the state.
Charlotte King to Be Inducted into the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame
We are proud to announce that Charlotte King, Founder and Chair Emeritus of the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice (SDARJ), will be inducted into the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame this September. Governor John Carney named Charlotte as one of four women selected for this prestigious honor in 2025.
2025 Charlotte King Scholarship Recipients
The Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice recently awarded $1,500 scholarships to four Sussex County students as part of its annual Charlotte King Scholarship program.
