September Town Hall Meeting: Amplifying Black Youth Voices
The Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice (SDARJ) is partnering with the Delaware Racial Justice Collaborative (DRJC) for this month`s town hall: Amplifying Black Youth Voices, on Tuesday, September 13, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., via Zoom. You can register here.
EVENT DETAILS
This will be a two-part panel discussion that will allow us to hear from youth directly about their challenges and advocacy efforts within their schools while defining and emphasizing the importance of Black Student Unions. The second portion of the discussion will overview the student engagement efforts of organizations thus far and strategize how to better support our young leaders.
Speakers will include: Tariah Hyland, Howard University, Nessy Cherazzard, Sussex Technical High School, Kenny Norwood, Trinity College, Kassidy Baptiste, Ursuline Academy, Naomi Allen, Sanford School and Jocques Bowe: Educator at Sussex Technical High School, Director/Program Coordinator Pathways To Success and Sussex County Program Coordinator for First State Community Action Agency. Panel Discussions will be moderated by Raina Allen, Director, Delaware Racial Justice collaborative and Jalyn Powell, CEO, OUTLOUD and Youth Co-Lead, Delaware Racial Justice Collaborative.
