A Conversation Focused on the Girls and Women of Sussex County

This meeting will bring together girls, women, service providers to girls and women, legislators and other concerned citizens to discuss and identify necessary legislation to ensure the well-being of minority and low-income girls and women in Delaware.

This event’s objectives are:

  • Identify the unmet and/or underserved needs of all girls and women in Delaware, especially girls and women residing in Sussex County.
  • Examine new and existing legislation which addresses the needs of all girls and women in Delaware, especially those who live in Sussex County.
  • Enhance and develop community-based partnerships between organizations and citizens to advocate for legislation, programs and services for all minority and low-income girls and women, especially those residing in Sussex County.
  • Enhance funding that enables agencies to engage in qualitative and quantitative research that: (1) yields a greater understanding of the life experiences of diverse girls and women that impact their well-being and (2) measures the impact of legislation, services, and programs with and on behalf of girls and women, especially those residing in Sussex County.
  • Identify resources available to address the physical, psychological and social needs of girls and women, especially those residing in Sussex County.
  • Discuss opportunities for continuing discussion after this program regarding meeting the needs of all minority and low-income women, especially girls and women residing in Sussex County.
