Third Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration
About the Event Paying homage to Dr. King, young civil rights leaders, and helping high school seniors in Sussex County
DOORS OPEN AT 6:15PM
During the event, we will pay homage to Dr. King and young civil rights leaders, like as John Lewis, Ella Baker, Fannie Lou Hamer, and Andrew Young, preserving and Maintaining the Truth About American History and African American History will also be a theme.
Proceeds from this year’s event will raise money for Charlotte King Scholarships for high school seniors to be awarded in the spring of 2026. Each recipient will receive a $1500 scholarship. In addition, funds raised will be used for our Academic Achievement awards for middle school students.
Event Performances
We will feature musical acts and performances as well as inspirational commentary. As in previous years we will showcase young people in our program. So get ready to be inspired and fired up for 2026 which is likely to be one of the most consequential years in American history.
