A Message From the SDARJ Steering Committee
On February 7, 2024, the SDARJ Steering Committee elected Clara Licata Chairperson, following the decision of. Charlotte King, SDARJ founder and eight-year Chairperson not to seek re-election. Rev. Marjorie Belmont-Burns was elected Vice Chair, filling Clara’s Vice Chair position.
Volunteers with Media and Communications Expertise Needed
SDARJ is seeking volunteers with technical and communications expertise to assist us with a variety of functions, including:
Volunteer opportunity to contribute to a critical initiative and gain valuable experience in the field of racial justice and historical representation
Over the next two and a half years, we will work closely with these esteemed organizations to develop and implement strategies addressing historical omissions within the JDP’s operations, collections, and programming. Our goal is to bring to light the narratives and experiences that have been historically marginalized, thereby fostering more inclusive and engaged communities.
Voting rights of Delawareans affected by latest decision
The Delaware Superior Court struck a blow to the voting rights of Delawareans on February 23, 2024 when it invalidated Delaware’s early voting and permanent absentee voting laws.
