Professional Summary
Gwendolyn Miller received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Case Western Reserve University while also earning her Bachelor of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music. After teaching for almost twenty years, she received her Master of Science Degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Education, Applied Psychology and Human Development Division. In pursuing her graduate degree, Ms. Miller was part of a team that researched and performed a scientific study on the area of Racial Microaggressions. Since receiving her degree, she focused her professional career working with district leaders and school faculties to promote positive inter-ethnic student-teacher relationships.
Over the past 30 years, Ms. Miller has gained broad knowledge and experience on issues of race and diversity while serving as an educator, consultant, facilitator, researcher, writer, speaker, and expert witness. She is asked by private and public academic institutions, non-profit agencies, school districts to assist them in promoting positive inter-ethnic student-teacher relationships.
She also has given presentations on Racial Microaggressions at numerous conferences including, the National Association of Independent Schools People of Color Conference, the American Psychological Association Convention, the National Conference on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in Higher Education, the Teachers College Roundtable on Multicultural Psychology and Education, and the National Association for Multicultural Education.
Consistent with her interests and experience in this area, Ms. Miller has served as the Chair of the Diversity Committee at Newtown Friends School, Newtown PA, and as the Chair of the Circle of Racism at George School, Newtown, PA. Currently, she serves as a member of the Steering Committee and the Chair of the Education Committee of the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice. Ms. Miller is the Chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee for the League of Women Voters Delaware and President, League of Women Voters of Sussex County, Delaware, and on the Futures Committee for the National League of Women Voters.

Racial Microaggressions Facilitator
Conducted workshops for administrators, faculty, and staff through a program entitled “Racial Microaggressions in Our Schools;” providing an awareness of the adverse effects of racial microaggressions on people of color through case studies, role-playing, and discussions. She has developed a program entitled, “Addressing Microaggressions in Education,” that examines students of color experiences, provides responses to racism-related stressors, and informs educators on appropriate pedagogical practices to minimize the stressors and encourage positive inter-ethnic student-teacher relationships.

Expert Witness
Served as an expert witness in a case involving alleged racial discrimination in promotion at a university. Specifically, the allegations focused on the intent and impact of alleged racial microaggressions.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Educator
Taught a course to prepare executives for the Certified Diversity Executive (CDE)® Exam. The (CDE)® qualification credential is designed to strategically position an organization to remove systemic barriers to inclusion, lead culture change, and transform the brand. The credential empowers executives to advance the organization beyond diverse representation towards thought leadership. It was created for leaders who manage or oversee large scale and complex equity, diversity and inclusion efforts.
Taught a course to prepare executives for the Certified Diversity Professional (CDP)® Exam. The (CDP)® credential indicates that a practitioner has the knowledge, skill, and ability to execute day-to-day diversity and inclusion tasks successfully. It is a professional qualification credential that is designed to enhance cultural competency and help an organization enrich its approach to inclusion.
