SDARJ African American Achievement Award at Milton Elementary School
The Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice (SDARJ) recently honored Milton Elementary School students Olivia Ohimor and Kade Wilkerson for their leadership, effort, and excellence. The students were recognized in a ceremony at the school and received $20 gift cards to Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach.
Olivia Ohimor is an exceptional first grader. She is a strong leader in the classroom who leads by example. She is an extremely hard worker and is proud of the work she completes. Olivia steps up to academic challenges and supports her peers.
Kade Wilkerson is a leader in his second-grade classroom. He consistently follows the “ Milton 5 Rules,” which are safety, kindness, perseverance, responsibility, and creativity. He is a supportive friend in the classroom.
SDARJ initiated the African American Achievement award to recognize students who represent the ideals of leadership, improvement, effort, and excellence in their schools. Students from each school in the Cape Henlopen and Indian River School Districts are recognized throughout the school year. SDARJ is a nonpartisan organization that educates, informs, and advocates for racial justice, equality, and fair opportunity.
