The Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice (SDARJ) recently honored Lewes Elementary fourth graders Jaybreon Mifflin and Skylar Hampton for their leadership, effort, and excellence. Their teacher is Tejhra Weiland.
Jaybreon Mifflin was recognized for the tremendous growth he has made over the past year. He demonstrates leadership in the classroom by setting goals, persevering, and working hard. Jaybreon’s teachers are proud of his accomplishments.
Skylar Hampton consistently demonstrates leadership and puts forth tremendous effort. She is kind to her classmates, leads by example, and puts first things first. Skylar’s teachers say she is a pleasure to be around and consider themselves lucky to have her at Lewes Elementary.
Surrounded by family, friends, teachers and administrators, Jaybreon and Skylar were honored in a ceremony at the school and each received a $20 gift card to Browseabout Books in Rehoboth.
SDARJ initiated the African American Achievement award to recognize students who represent the ideals of leadership, effort, and excellence in their schools. Students from each school in the Cape Henlopen and Indian River School Districts are recognized throughout the school year.
