We are honoring H.O. Brittingham Elementary School students for their leadership, improvement, effort, and excellence
The Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice (SDARJ) recently honored H.O. Brittingham Elementary School students Olivia Clegg and Gabrielle Roseboro for their leadership, improvement, effort, and excellence.
Olivia’s teacher said, “Olivia is an outstanding example of leadership at H.O. Brittingham and a friend to all. She is the first to step in and help a friend or teacher in need and lifts up those around her. Olivia is a valued member of our Student Leadership Team and is always willing to serve her school and community.”
According to her teacher, Gabrielle is an excellent example of leadership at school. She is outgoing and friendly to all her classmates. She works hard to achieve her goals and help others around her to do the same. Gabrielle is always willing to lend a helping hand in and outside the classroom.
Olivia and Gabrielle each received a $20 gift card to Browseabout Books in Rehoboth and the book, “The Highest Tribute: Thurgood Marshall’s Life, Leadership, and Legacy,” by Kekla Magoon. Browseabout is a sponsor of the award.
SDARJ initiated the African American Achievement award to recognize students who represent the ideals of leadership, improvement, effort, and excellence in their schools. Two students from each school in the Cape Henlopen School District are recognized throughout the school year. SDARJ is a nonpartisan organization that educates, informs, and advocates for racial justice, equality, and fair opportunity.
